Hearts + Balls supports rugby players and their families facing life-changing injury. Since 1999, we’ve been part of Scotland’s rugby family—helping those in need when the game stops but the challenges continue. We believe in the power of community, connection, and compassion should a life altering injury occur.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Fundraiser with deep knowledge of the Scottish rugby community and strong corporate and sponsor contacts. This is a flexible, part-time role (around 20 hours per month) ideal for someone passionate about rugby, networking, and making a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach potential donors, sponsors, and corporate partners aligned with Hearts + Balls’ mission.
  • Build and manage relationships within the Scottish rugby community—clubs, former players, and supporters.
  • Apply for grant applications and donation initiatives
  • Work closely with Trustees and volunteers to develop creative fundraising ideas and build long-term support.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in fundraising or partnerships development.
  • Strong, established connections within the Scottish rugby network.
  • Ability to engage confidently with corporate sponsors and community partners.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and represent the charity’s spirit and values.
  • Genuine passion for rugby and belief in helping rugby help its own.

Details

  • Flexible freelance contract – approx. 20 hours per month @ £25ph
  • Remote working with some travel
  • Reasonable expenses covered
