Hearts & Balls are delighted to announce the appointment of Graham Fisken to the Board of Trustees as we continue to build on the foundations and expand the reach of the charity.

Graham, who cut his rugby teeth playing in the youth section of Biggar RFC, went on to join West of Scotland FC while studying Law in Glasgow. After four years at West, where he helped his side to Premier Two victory, he joined Ayr RFC and was part of that Premiership and Cup double winning team in 2012/13.

Whilst at West and Ayr he was selected for the Scotland 7s squad and was fortunate enough to play in tournaments around the world – “Mostly just making up the numbers,” he modestly reckons.

Upon qualifying as a lawyer in 2016, he retired from playing and now enjoys golfing in summer and skiing in winter .

Currently a senior associate at Turcan Connell, as a Chartered Tax Advisor he provides advice on tax and succession planning, trust law and partnership law. Keen to bring both his rugby and legal knowledge to the table, Graham adds, “By joining the Hearts + Balls board I hope to give something back to the game which has benefitted me so much.

“I want to help the charity continue its excellent work in providing support and resources for players seriously injured playing rugby.”

Chair of Hearts + Balls Board, Hugh Dan MacLennan enthuses, “We’re delighted to have Graham aboard. As someone with such a breadth of understanding across both the rugby and legal fields, his experience will undoubtedly bolster our efforts as we look to build on the assistance we can offer in helping rugby to help its own.

“Graham’s presence on the Board will help enable us take the Hearts+Balls Charitable Trust on to the next stage of its development and we all look forward to working with him.”
